Bones: Clown

(no subject)

"Why has the pleasure of slowness disappeared? Ah, where have they gone, the amblers of yesteryear? Where have they gone, those loafing heroes of folk song, those vagabonds who roam from one mill to another and bed down under the stars? Have they vanished along with footpaths, with grasslands and clearings, with nature? There is a Czech proverb that describes their easy indolence by a metaphor: "They are gazing at God's windows." A person gazing at God's windows in not bored; he is happy. In our world, indolence has turned into having nothing to do, which is a completely different thing: a person with nothing to do is frustrated, bored, is constantly searching for the activity he lacks."

This is your cat on drugs.

Three blogs (,, and!!!!) published stories about an event I sent to them!! Austin City Limits will kick off its 34th season tonight on Georgia Public Broadcasting with R.E.M.

Destin was glorious, sans my EXTREME sun/wind burn that I incurred on the first full day there.

I'm a little less broke, working at the pub more often. I'll make rent this month, but still can't pay mom back what I owe for the past two months. I'm going to apply for a bunch of scholarships. I can spit out an awesome essay in an hour, so hopefully a few organizations will want to give me some money.

Then maybe I can pay my debts, buy an inflatable kayak (new REI just opened near me!!) and go to DragonCon. Those are my short term goals that involve money. And buy an inflatable pool.

Life is awesome.
